Parents and participants should understand that participation in an activity is not a right but a privilege that can be revoked if participants behave inappropriately or if they pose a risk to themselves or others. The following rules should be followed to ensure the safety of all participants:

1. The Camp Joseph Rules & Regulations

2. All guidelines set forth in the For the Strength of Youth: A Guide to Making Choices

3. Participants agree to leave cell phones, tablets and all other electronic devices brought to camp with adult leaders. In the case of an emergency the adult leaders at camp will be able to contact parents/guardians. If participants bring a phone/device, they should plan to leave it with adult leaders until the end of the week. Participants are welcome to use phones to call and to check in at home during the week as time and common sense permit, but please do not plan to use devices for purposes other than a call or text to the parent or guardian. A wristwatch, small notebook, and set of paper scriptures will be helpful.

4. The buddy system should be used at all times.

5. Participants should not be barefoot except at the waterfront. Participants need to have shoes secured on the back of their heels.
